Audi A4 to much oil
2009 A4, computer inside car constantly saying shut car off and add oil. Needless to say after a few days of adding oil, white smoke! Drained oil had 7/8 quarts. Added the right amount back drove fine minimal smoke: Next day started and drove approximately 10 miles and it died. Tried to start back made terrible noise. Turned car off and now won't start. Anyone know what the problem could be. Audi says 10,000 to replace motor.

How long after the first warning before you added oil? It's possible enough damage occurred after that, that eventually something has seized up completely, especially if the problem was a failed oil pump as opposed to low oil level.

If it was overfilled, it could have hydrolocked if it sucked enough oil into the cylinders.
I would start looking for a good independent shop, drop a used or rebuilt engine in it for half of Audi's quote.
Also, your car should be a B8 if it's a 2009, so I'm moving the thread to B8
