Default Buying A4 - Need Help

I am thinking about buying a CPO A4 from the dealer. I have the packages and colors (Quattro, Auto, P+, Tech, White w/ Black/Black int) figured out but I have a few questions.

1. I have researched the oil consumption issue and thus am only considering 2013.5-2015. Those of you who have a car like this - would you buy it again?

2. The dealer has a lot of cars that are CPO that used to be in their loaner pool. They typically have under 10k miles. My other option is to wait for a trade-in/lease return car with slightly higher mileage - 20k-30k miles. Should I stay away from the cars that were part of the loaner pool? Part of me says yes part of me says no. For various reasons.

Anything I should worry about or watch for with these cars? - I am not a German car newb but my last Audi was a 1990 model 80..

Thanks!!

You should also research the cam follower issue. Audi just upgraded the 2.0t FSI engine

Thanks I will look into that - Any thoughts on the loaner car concern?

We bought a service (loaner) car for our kid. It was a 2015 with 553 miles on it. Good deal at $32000 . Timing was the key as the dealer was backfilling all of their service cars with 2016 models. Any loaner with more then 5000 miles I wouldn't buy then again I sometimes have concerns about a lease car and whether they were abused too. Hey , you get what you get.

ok - so from what I can tell the cam follower issue is limited to the pre-face lift cars? i.e. pre- 2013.5?

We bought a 2011 A3 loaner car with 5200 miles on it - CPO so we got the long warranty. The car has worked out very well - no regrets. I bought two A4's off lease and they were both horrible cars. As with any car you need to do as much research as you can and hope for the best!
