In Car Owners Manual (and MMI manual) on your PC
When I took delivery of my car it came with a CD which you put in your car so you can access an electronic version of the Owners Manual and the MMI manual.
On the 3G system you can upload this on to the HDD so that it works very quickly.
I wondered if the files could be made to work on a PC ... and they can
It takes less that 5 mins to end up with a fully navigable manual :
[1] Download the free version of Isobuster from ISOBuster.com
[2] Install it
[3] Insert the CD and use ISObuster to look at it.
[4] Extract the following ISO file to your PC : boardbook/data/0/default/boardbook.iso
[5] In ISObuster, click File, Open image file and point to the boardbook.iso whereever you stored it.
[6] Then select the folder you want i.e. for English : boardbook/en_GB
[7] Right click on en_GB and select "Extract en_GB" and specify where you want it.
[8] You'll now have a directory on your PC called Boardbook. Go into the En_GB directory and find the file called IMHALT.HTM.
[9] Double click it and a browser window will open and let you navigate the Car User Manual and the MMI manual in exactly the same way as you can do within the car.
Nice !
p.s. Additionally it means we can all post up the images that we're referring to in the manual such as this

All we need is someone who's willing to host a 30MB zip file of Audi Copyright material and then you can all have it.
I can't believe you don't get the CD. It means we can leave the paper manuals out of the car and hence have some space in the glove box.

Nope, my tiny glove compartment is stuffed full of manuals. Between the manuals and the AMI interface I've got enough room left over for a pack of gum or two.
