Check Oil Level Warning - 09 Audi A4 2.0T
Happy New Year everyone.
I been having this problem for about 3 months now, and I am really not sure why, hope someone can help me out here.
Thanks in advance!
This is what happened, I been getting the "Switch off engine and check oil level" red warning every time when my car is cold. And the symtoms is like this: It only appears for 5 seconds or so, and have 3 loud beeps, and it happens whenever my car is completely cold, then I start and drive the car (still all good) until I fully stop the car, then within 1/2 second, this warning will pops up. and the warning only last for about 5 second... either 5 seconds or when I move the car again, the warning goes away. if I fully stop again, and the warning will pops up again and repeats. but once the car starts to warm up (no need to fully warm up) I won't get this message anymore. I checked the engine oil and it is full as well, and I know the Oil Level is not STUCK at full, because it will go down over time (A4 oil consumption problem) So can anyone chip in any ideas?
I included 2 pictures below,

I am wondering if it is the oil pump? or the oil sensor at the bottom of the oil pan?
Thank you so much everyone!

Gil, do you know how many miles are on the car? What's the maintenance history like? Using an approved oil?

Hello uberwgn,
I been doing the oil change for the past 30K miles, right now the car has 69700miles.
I always been using Mobil 0w40 Full synthetic Engine Oil, and I change oil every 10K miles.
The engine and car drives smoothly and I don't feel any problem or lack of power. But just this warning during engine is cold, and at full stop.
Usually this warning happens 1-2 times every time I start driving the car after cool down, and since where I live, everytime I drive is at least 20-60mins, I only get this warning 1-2 times in the beginning of warming up the car.

The oil level sensors seem to be a common failure. I hope this warning isn't being generated due to low oil pressure - - that would be serious.
Changing out the oil level sensor is not a big deal assuming that's the problem.

The sensor is on the side of the oil pan.
To check the oil pressure you'd need a gage and a bit of know-how.

Before you throw to much money in parts do an oil change with 5W-40 and see if that makes a difference. Try using Castrol syn which is spec. recommended for your year. If you still have the problem then do the sensor.

Thank you again Jagtoes!
I will try doing a oil change with 5W-40 first. I do use Castrol or Mobil (depend on which on sale) but both the same problem, but with 0W-40.
Will try that first. Thanks!
Also, I always been doing oil change with the Vaccum pump (instead of go under the car and unscrew the plug) I wonder if that has anything to do with it??
