Hi all:

I'm new to the site (sort-of, I've been a long time lurker). Anyway, I took my 09 A4 in for a suspension check after hearing a crunching noise while encountering speed bumps. Having done some research I had an idea of what they may come back with.

In short, I've been told the control arms and struts need to be replaced at a cost of $5100 plus tax. In my own research this seemed a little steep so I wanted to defer to some more experienced Audi owners.

Does this sound outrageous?

my struts were replaced under warranty and the control arms were not replaced even though they should have been - so i cannot comment on the cost. i will tell you that having owned an '09 model and going through hell with the suspension that it is a major problem. the control arms were redesigned for '10 and later and the problems under the car seemed to disappear.
