So the 4F0051510AC cable seems to work, I have some issues with it remaining connected though. The charge seems to be consistent but often the MMI says "No device connected" and stops playing the music. I think I might return it and just use the SD cards or look into a bluetooth solution.

I thought I would find one on black friday but it looks like the choices on amazon aren't rated very highly. I thought I could save $50 if the Audi one was $80. Are there any good models that are less expensive than what Audi will sell?

I ended up abandoning the AMI cable and grabbed a tune2air, working much better than the AMI cable was. This was the model: WMA3000A

actually here's a better method.

it's a bluetooth device which connects to your phone and uploads your playlist via phone on your MMI screen.

iPhone Adapter
On my 2009 A4 Cabriolet, I looked into several options, but nothing simple worked. The car had the iPod adapter in the glove box, but this did not work with a newer iPhone, even with adapters.
I ended up getting a kit from Enfig Car Stereo - iPod XM and Sirius Satellite Radio & Auxiliary AUX Audio input specialists | Page 1 of 1. It cost about $200 and there is limited control from the music system, but it works well.

Hey Swissman564, how did you hook yours up? I have an 08 A4 S-line with the 30-pin iPod connector in the glove box. I just got my WMA3000A but it doesn't connect to the 30-pin. Is there another connection somewhere?

My connection is located in the bottom of the arm rest box.
