Default Firmware update

Hi,

I have been searching for a few day for proper answers, but I couldn't found anything usefull on internet for my problems, so I decided to write on this forum, because it looks, that you guys knows what's the best for Audi users

My current firmware version of car is BNAV_EU_P0054_D1, which seems to be old. I downloaded firmware version BNav_EU_K0256_D1 and I wonder if this update is fully compatible with my car. How can I know that if I try to install this update that everything will works as expected?

Also what is process to update audi firmware and do I really need to attach my car power supply to any additional outside power supply during update process (I read this somewhere on internet)?

What are benefits from updating firmware version? Am I able to use new navigation maps 3G MMI 2014 Basic with firmware version BNAV_EU_P0054_D1 or do I need to update it to BNav_EU_K0256_D1?

The only reason, why I want to update is because I want to use 2014 based navigation DVD, and it seems to require update to working with..

Regards,
Miha
