[QUOTE=Manual_Trans;24675575]I have a 2015 A4 that just rolled over 3,000 miles yesterday. Oil consumption to date has been .5 QT. I'm including a few screen shots.

It's hard to extrapolate from individuals reporting their consumption, but it's all we have. What I'd love to see is some data from someone who is an Audi mechanic about min, max, average oil consumption for 100 2.0T engines arriving at the dealership for their first 5k oil change. Is anyone collecting this? Then we would have some real data. Outside of that, it's all very anecdotal.

So in my car, what does .5 QT/3000 miles mean? That the problem isn't "resolved" (whatever that means exactly) or that the issue is ongoing? Or that I am experiencing normal consumption during break-in?

I'm guessing this is normal, and we should expect consumption over the life of the engine, although not to the extent that created the class action lawsuit and and ongoing stream of cars getting new pistons and rings.

The question you would have to ask is "is the oil consumption of the 2.0L engine deemed normal and acceptable". Also do all of your other vehicles do the same thing. I just turned 5500 miles on my 510HP S/C Jaguar and the e-dipstick still reads full. I have 30K miles on my Lexus V6 and at every 5000 mile oil change the dipstick reads full and is clean. So what do you call normal. I know what I do. My kids 2009 A4 gets 2700 miles per quart. Now if you put in a 270HP Japanese V6 into an A4 you'd have a great little car.

On point there, jagtoes.

If you start googling around it seems VW and Audi are notorious oil burners. Doesn't matter what engine - as long as it's a turbo.

I don't mind a little oil burnt if that's how the engine is 1) meant to run and 2) doesn't create excess emissions and 3) doesn't burn more than past minimum between service intervals.

I am in the process of setting up an appointment with Audi to get the FREE service adjustment [oil consumption] performed on my 2009 A4 2.0L. I am wondering if there is something else I should replace/repair in that area because its sort torn a part? I am thinking of the timing chain tensioner. I had heard that they fail early. Does anybody have some advice?

Thx
