Hi All..
I've an A4 B8 2009, ~58K miles and CPO warranty about to expire. Earlier this week, while driving there was an bearings failure on the idler pulley leading to failure of pulley driven systems like alternator, battery, power steering. I'm concerned about malfunctions such as these in the powertrain with not too many miles..I took the car to a nearby Indy shop and he replaced the pulley, tensioner and the serpentine belt. I didn't find a thread with this sorta issue here but in another forum so FYI for all:
Idler pulley failure - anyone else?
Not sure if I should've gone to the dealer and this was covered under CPO?

Does anyone recommend getting extended warranty after CPO expires? Any particular things I should get checked from an Indy shop?
