Default Maybe I'm amazed

Earlier this year, I brought my car into my dealership to have my car repaired under the class action lawsuit regarding excessive oil burning. My car was using 1 quart every 1,200 miles.

My dealership performed the "Service Adjustment," consisting of (1) a replacement of the crankcase pressure regulating valve, front crankshaft seal and front crankshaft bolt, and (2) updating of the Engine Control Module software to match the new part(s).

Many people on this forum said that the work would not be enough, and that I probably would be heading back to my dealership to have my pistons replaced, etc.

Well, I am happy to report that my car barely uses a drop of oil between changes. i just wish that my dealership had performed the work several years ago, when I first complained about excessive oil usage. It would have saved me a lot of money.

But hopefully, by this time next year I will be driving a 2017 A4. And hopetully there will be no excessive oil consumption issues.
