Default Oil Level Sensor ?

Hi Guys, I bought a 2014 a4 with a 2.0 Turbo S-Line. (Not a Quattro) I bought it with 17k miles on it back in may. It just hit 22k so I did an oil change. Easy enough pulled filter pumped out the old in with the new. Used Mobil 1 0-40 spec'd for Audi. When I first started it up the oil level said "No Information available" after about 20 miles it kicked in and read fine. Now 20 miles later it is not reading again. Says same thing. "No Information available". Any ideas? Does the sensor need to be reset or something? Thanks for your help.

Does it advice you that the engine must be warm and off 2 minutes before reading? Have you opened the hood recently?
Every time you open the hood it needs a new "warm and off" cycle.

Sandman, it takes a bit of time to come up with a new (accurate) value to display. It does not happen instantly. Check it again in a few days.

Have you thought of doing the dipstick mod?

I am going to mark an old dip stick I have this week end so I have a second way to check it. Do they make a dipstick for it?

You are right, It did not work when I left work last night, But I checked it when I got home and again this morning and it is reading fine. I thought that is was odd that it came on once then went back out again, But I think it is okay now. Thanks

It takes some accumulated miles post-change for the system to generate an accurate reading.

It's a stupid system IMO. Can't believe that it's not been improved on. You should be able to get a reading every time you do a cold start.
So, what is this dip stick mod? Do tell.

There is no mod. You simply purchase a dipstick.
