Sandman, the dealer has a dipstick "tool" that's adjustable and is used across the product line. You can purchase that and it will be the most accurate.

I believe there's a method for filling/checking oil level via the VCDS tool.

I have both a 2014 A4 and a 2012 VW Tiguan. Both with the 2.0l. The Tig came with a dipstick and I can report that it will accurately read the oil level in the A4. So if looking to purchase a dipstick, just look for one for a Tiguan 2.0l

I have a dipstick in my 2015 A4 2.0. Part number: 06J 115 611E . One of the parts sources that advertise here should have it.
