Default OK, today the fuel tank door would not open. Does anyone have any suggestions, what

could be causing this?

I have had this car for over 2 years now, and this is the first time that this has happened.

Did you lock the doors via the FOB? I found this out the second day I had my car. If you lock the doors, it also locks the fuel tank door.

Isn't their an emergency release in the trunk behind the side panel? Have you tried that?

Thank you, Scotty (UK).

You are correct. I guess if I had bothered to check in the manual first. I would have found it.

So, yes it is behind the storage bin on the right hand side of the trunk. That piece of felt can be removed easily. Behind it there are some fuses and some wiring. Towards the top of that area, there is also a tab on a thin red wire. If you pull on that tab at the same time as pushing on the fuel tank door, the door will pop open readily.

Once again, thanks.

You should get it looked at. That's a warranty thing. You may have a bad latch.

If this does not happen again in the meantime, I will mention it on my next visit to the dealer.

Had this happen to me on a B6. Try to cycle the FOB (the fuel door locks with the doors). I finally stopped it with a little WD40 in the locking mechanism on the fuel door.
