Hello, my service adviser informed me that my axle boots are split/leaking which is the reason for a small clicking sound when i turn slowly.

should i go ahead with this repair or can i have a local shop apply this Front Outer CV Joint Refresh Kit? The kit on ecs tuning is only $70 each so i could save hundreds of dollars but i just want to make sure it will resolve my problem. However, if mine is split/leaking maybe it's too late for this kit and i need to replace the outer CV?

the boot keeps the cv joint clean and greased. broken or ripped boots are a silent defect..Unless it's discovered fast, the lost grease+ entry of rain,etc. will ruin the cv joint, The clicking nose is the joint's complaining as it's dying .

you might get more mileage out of the cv joint as is, but i think you are looking at a replacement joint/ half axle.

Is it worth investing in a boot repair to slow down the demise of the joint?
