I have an Audi 2010 A4 2.0 Q. with 75,900 miles on it. What all is involved in the stage -2 rebuild, and what is the cost to Audi( If Known) for this? While that is being done I am also having the 75,000 mile service done, and a new timing chain kit put in, because the labor is already covered with the rebuild. The total cost is $542.00 out the door. Thanks for reading, and for:D any reply you may have.

I'm having the oil test done right now and I'm sure it will fail. I'm curious what the steps are as well. It seems as if they do an engine re-build, or at least most of the engine?

I cannot tell you what exactly is involved(at least new pistons) but I highly recommend you have them replace the time chain tensioner and inspect the chain for wear.

It is all done plus my battery died so along came another $257.00 bill.

Dropped my car off today after the oil light came on yesterday. The service adviser said he was very confident it would fail since it burned through 1 qt. in 698 miles. He said if it in fact did fail, they would replace the pistons and rings. I'm definitely going ask about the chain and chain tensioner when I hear for sure it failed the oil test. Also, they put me in a Q5 s-line loaner which was very nice.
