Textar "OEM" Pads are unacceptable
Just a note for all interested. This on a 2011 A4 Quattro automatic.
I installed the "OEM compound" Textar pads and within one 30 mile trip to work and back, the dust is noticeable, and within 3 to 4 days (100 miles) the wheels are completely covered. The original OEM pads - the real OEM pads - that came on the car when new, lasted 60k miles and had ZERO dust issues.
Do not buy these pads if you have silver wheels and don't want to wash your car every third day.

My car wash offers unlimited washes for $36/mo. I slide in every day after work. It eliminates the dusty wheel problems.
OE compounds might be the older OE type that are very dusty, or you have old rotors with surface defects and the new pads are having trouble gripping.
Rotors are so cheap, I change them with every set of pads. Machining them is really a waste of time because workshop lathes do not have the precision necessary to meet the VW specs for rotors.

No problem with gripping, in fact stopping power is very good, but not linear or smooth either. The rotors are fine. The Textar PN is 8K0698151H.
I am going to toss those in the can and get some ceramic pads to eliminate the problem. Just wanted to alert others about these as they are nowhere near the OEM quality of pads that came off of the car!

Yeah, I'm running "OEM" Textars on my old A6 C5 and it's the same story. But really, I haven't found any pads with decent performance that won't completely cover your wheels in brake dust after 30 miles. Same story with the Hawk HPS (which are supposed to be low-dust!) and other performance pads I've tried. So I'd say just settle for washing the wheels regularly
Btw, how did you open your EPB to replace the rear pads? I'll use this opportunity to mention that our app Carista now has the ability to release the electronic parking brake for brake pad replacement (as of the newly-released v3.0).
