Am I crazy or is Audi or both?

The seller I bought it from has a shop that sells OEM Audi parts. It had the Audi/VW/Skoda/seat logo on the back with the same part number. It might be a knock off but it felt exactly like the original one, build quality-wise and it works perfectly.

I honestly think this thing should even cost $5.00 each.

haha when I still had my b6, I bought two b5 s4 calipers and decided to rebuild them before installation... the rebuild kits were about 15-20 each on ebay and for the bleeder screw, i did not want to cheap out due to safety concerns.. so I went to audi...
23$ EACH + tax.. picked up my jaw and ordered it anways.....
I think it's audi ...

It is a blatant rip-off and causes some very "ill-will feelings" from their owners. Why they choose to do this on such rudimentary parts is beyond me. i needed 4 small plastic covers on the inside of my TT for a project I did.....$56 EACH! I ordered the identical thing from China and had it shipped across the ocean for $12...for all 4! I understand the need for profit and for markup, but this just reeks of pure greed. I mean....4 little plastic do-dads and I had payed 20% of a $1000 headlight assembly?!?!? It's not just you that is kind of taken back and irritated....
Having said that, I'm also a member of the Macan forum and one of the most irritating issues is the very high cost of basic maintence - some dealers asking $300.00 and more for an oil change.

The high cost is artificial.
Its because Audi dont want to supply small, insignificant parts like that. To Audi, saying something is available is more valuable than actually making it available.
They're hoping you'll buy it from someone else and not bother them with it.
Its the same reason the USB cables are so expensive.
