The seller I bought it from has a shop that sells OEM Audi parts. It had the Audi/VW/Skoda/seat logo on the back with the same part number. It might be a knock off but it felt exactly like the original one, build quality-wise and it works perfectly.

Could this be the same company that charges $60 for a USB cable that one could get for $3 anywhere else?

Don't know why the difference in cost. I didn't check other retailers. List price is $38.00 each......Audi Parts | audionlineparts.com.
I honestly think this thing should even cost $5.00 each.

haha when I still had my b6, I bought two b5 s4 calipers and decided to rebuild them before installation... the rebuild kits were about 15-20 each on ebay and for the bleeder screw, i did not want to cheap out due to safety concerns.. so I went to audi...

23$ EACH + tax.. picked up my jaw and ordered it anways.....

I think it's audi ...

I ordered the identical thing from China and had it shipped across the ocean for $12...for all 4! I understand the need for profit and for markup, but this just reeks of pure greed. I mean....4 little plastic do-dads and I had payed 20% of a $1000 headlight assembly?!?!? It's not just you that is kind of taken back and irritated....
I agree, why the huge, huge markup on a simple piece of plastic? I like Audis - this is my 5th one and like the dealerships. And again, they need to make a healthy profit to stay and grow in business, but these are those littel things that do cause, as you mention "ill will" and may in fact turn some people off to the brand. I really am considering sending those parts right back to the dealer - just on principle, but I prorbably won't - kind of cutting your nose to spite your face.

Having said that, I'm also a member of the Macan forum and one of the most irritating issues is the very high cost of basic maintence - some dealers asking $300.00 and more for an oil change.

The high cost is artificial.

Its because Audi dont want to supply small, insignificant parts like that. To Audi, saying something is available is more valuable than actually making it available.

They're hoping you'll buy it from someone else and not bother them with it.

Its the same reason the USB cables are so expensive.
