Carplay vs. MMI
What do you use?
Initially I had been using Carplay, but I have found it to be unreliabl. It seems the MMI can accomplish everything Carplay can do, except read your messages... I even get Siri on a long press of voice command...
Anyone else ditch Carplay? or Anyone have a compelling reason to use it?

I have used it a bit and I haven't run into any reliability issues but I do find it easier to find music using the MMI interface. I know there is a big update to Carplay coming with IOS 10 to I'm hoping for improvements.

I don't have my A4 yet, so I'm just curious.... I assume you can get Siri with a long press of the voice command button while the phone is connected through Bluetooth? Or is it required to have it connected by USB?
For myself, I doubt I will use CarPlay in the early going, but it was very important to me that whichever vehicle I choose, it should have CarPlay. I plan to keep this vehicle for some time, and over time the MMI system will most likely not receive many updates and will become dated. But CarPlay will continue to be updated with every new version of iOS, and in a few years I suspect it will be much more advanced than the MMI system.

To answer your question; yes, a long press gets you Siri, even in Bluetooth, which is pretty awesome!

I find Carplay doesn't always start up when I plug my phone in. On more that one occasion I've had to reset my phone...
