When I insert the SD card now nothing happens. What are the update steps.
After inserting the SD card, go to Nav, hit the right drawer button. There should be an option to update navigation software. I'm not sure since I'm doing this out of memory. I believe there was an option. If not, check under settings in Nav for an update option.

The update that I did is the one that came out about a month ago. I just hadn't got around to installing it. I did get the notification on the MMI screen.

As mentioned, I did the in-car download update for just my region. I suppose that counted as one of the 5 free. In the future I won't bother with this one and just go for the Complete Package each time.

I received the update too. (Northeastern states - NY and a few others) My audi connect expired 2 days later so the timing was good.

Could you please provide the URL of the web site that you downloaded the nav update manually from. I'm in the same boat you are - Canadian A4 without Audi Connect, so I'd need to do the same.

No problem. Let me know if it works though. For people in USA, we login to myAudi through the Audi USA website.

It appears to be working. For the benefit of any other Canadian users, I found that I needed to change the default country and language before the timeout took me to the next page to select a region. Also, based on the fact that the initial download is a JNLP file, Java is required. Based on that, I ended up using Microsoft Edge browser rather than Chrome, which is my normal browser. I selected the option for just the Canadian maps, and its showing as a 1.2GB download, and appears to be downloading very slowly (currently 720 kB/s) on a Shaw Internet 150 (150 Mbps) connection.

Thanks again for the link to the site.
