Large Insurance Premium Increase?
Wow, I just got my first insurance bill from State Farm after buying the Audi and my premium increased from $950 per year to $1,500 per year. (I have not had any tickets, accidents, etc. that would trigger an increase.) I called my agent and she said it is purely due to the Audi. I went from a 2005 Acura TL to the Audi and expected a bit of a bump, but I never expected a 50% increase. Have others experienced a substantial premium increase after buying the new A4?

Actually, I had a 2013 Lexus GS prior to getting my Audi and my premiums went DOWN! I had State Farm until one day a few years back I was in a AAA store and for the heck of it asked for a new quote. They saved me about $800 to switch from State Farm to Travelers. Not saying to switch, but I guess it would not hurt to shop around. I live in MD.

Where are you located? That can have a big effect on premiums, although that does sounds like a big jump within the same area as the previous car. Our premium on a 2016 A6 with State Farm is $725/year in the Chicago suburbs..

I'm in Colorado and I have State Farm as well, mine went up $20 or so bucks a month. That isn't bad considering this car is worth about 10k more than my PP+ 12' A4.

Im with Geico and my insurance went up $100/year from my 16 S6 to the 17 A4! They said it was due to all the new electronics. Im like what? My old car had way more electronics. Either way, Im ok with my yearly premium as it is.

I'm in Northern Virginia also and have GEICO. My premium went up a little bit from my previous car which was a '14 Mercedes CLA. It's still pretty reasonable at $61 per month. Full disclosure, I have a multi-car policy with some additional discounts.
