Default Premium/Premium Plus Wheel Switch Questions

I'm preparing to order a Premium Plus with the 18" wheels; I don't want the sport package, so no 19", unfortunately. However, I'm not a fan of the 18" wheel that comes with P+. I much prefer the 10-spoke 18" wheel that comes with the base Premium car as an option.

The dealer won't swap the wheels with a car on the lot because that violates federal law. What are my other options? Could I sell the P+ wheels to the dealer when the car arrives and buy the 10-spokes from the dealer? Or do I have to find someone who wants to swap?

Buy the 10-spokes from the dealer and sell the factory P+ wheels yourself on Craigslist or through the classifieds section in this forum.

My dealer swapped wheels for me. Question the "federal law" that your dealer is referring to.

Talked to two more dealers, both said no. Wondering if the road block has to do with swapping tires from a new car.

It is because then the equipment on the car will not match the monroney (window sticker) and also the build configuration of the car will be incorrect in the warranty systems.

Best bet is to buy it, see if the wheels grow on you, and if they don't, then buy a set afterwards.
