The reason why the A4 at idle seems like it will cut off
I looked at the RPM on the tachometre when starting the car, it is lower than 1,000 RPM, I know from past experience from prior cars when the RPM is this low at idle, the car will stall, turn itself off and accelerate roughly. This is a flaw Audi has to fix, this is NOT normal.
The next time anybody start their car, prior to driving off, look at the tachometre. My car always feels like it will turn itself off and I had to find the reason why.

Since your car is a new B9 A4, it will be best to take it to the dealer and have them check it out. This way, you find out the reason why it's acting up like that.

Everybody on this site that has the same car mentioned the same issue on a recent thread, even people that tested the car in You Tube mentioned the exact same thing, this is not specific to me, this is Audi A4 car wide.

I haven't noticed anything with my 2017 A4 that would indicate to me that it's about to stall or cut off. Are you talking about the fact that the car actually does shut off when you're pushing down on the break to save gas?
Also, if you're in Sport the car idles at a solid 2k so if you like a higher idle can always just shift it to Sport or leave the car in Dynamic.

I turn off that stop / start feature, however, in that mode, the engine by design does cut itself off.
I have an individual mode for my personal car settings and most are in comfort mode with the exception of steering which is in dynamic mode.

Here's the link to a previous discussion about the roughness on idle. I brought my 2 week old A4 in last month just for that complaint L. They checked and said it's normal for this car. Scratched my head then and I accept it for what it is, though still scratching my head about it.

... and basically matches the behaviour of every other tach-equipped fuel-injected car I've observed.
