Default Ride Changes in Suspension Packages

Hey guys,

I am taking a look at the new 2017 A4 Prestige. I am wondering what difference overall the suspension changes make in the ride (Sport package and Comfort Adaptive). I was looking at the Sport Package, but I will already get the sport seats if I chose the warm weather package (gotta love those ventilated seats). I'm wondering if the change in ride from the Sport Package worth the $750 if I already have the sport seats.

Thanks for any advice you guys have!

Sport suspension also lowers the ride height 23mm. I would suggest doing a test drive of the different suspensions. Overall the sport will be firmer, but it is up to you to determine if that is better.

Since you're doing warm weather, do the adaptive suspension. Will be a better use of your money.

That's what I was thinking. I'm going to try and give both options a test drive to see if either is a good option for me. I wanted to be sure to go in with some additional points of view before testing them out!

That's a good point. I ordered warm weather and sport packages and told my sales person I felt like I was paying for the seats twice. I really wanted the lower ride and black headliner though.

As for the ride, my last 2 A4s have had the sports suspension, so I'm used to it and the new one rode even nicer. They did not have the adaptive for me to try, just the regular suspension, which I didn't like the look of so I didn't bother trying it out.

The dealership that I visited did not have either the sports suspension or the comfort adapting suspension for me to try. The regular was not bad but I am getting comfort adapting on my order.

I can see where the sports suspension will give a more "sporty" feel, but what does the Adaptive suspension offer that the standard suspension does not? I thought that was what the Audi Drive Select was for.

Unless you have the adaptive suspension, drive select cannot adjust the parameters of the suspension. So the sport suspension is fixed and has no firmness adjustability.

Yeah, without adaptive suspension it only alters the engine, transmission, and steering.

Adaptive suspension is very subtle, nothing you can feel right away. But it seems to be constantly changing the dampers depending on the road surface and driving style, very hard to describe.

I was disappointed when I first got the car because it was only 10mm lowered instead of 23mm with sport package and it was not immediately noticeable how the damping changes. After about 1200 miles I enjoy it very much though because it seems to be much smoother than sport suspension and much stiffer than standard suspension deepening on various factors.
