Default Stays clean ... almost

I'm very happy with my decision to go with a light-colored car this time around. All of my previous cars were dark. And while nothing shines like a clean dark car -- nothing shows the dirt like one, too. Especially in the winter, when your car gets covered with road salt.

Fortunately, my Cuvee Silver A4 has the ability to stay clean for weeks. It really doesn't show much dirt -- except for the very back of the car, including the bumper and area surrounding the license plate. Due to aerodynamics, dirt seems to get sucked onto this area of the car like a magnet.

And while the other 90 percent of your car might look clean, motorists driving behind you will get a good view of the dirtiest section of your car.

As a result, I've been sponging off the back of my car once or twice a week. I guess it beats having to wash the whole car.

If your car is basically clean but just covered in dust, you can use the California Duster and dust off instead of washing. Obviously, this duster won't work if the dust is caked-on. I use this duster on my cars and, as long as it does not see rain and dust is not caked-on, it will easily remove loose dust/dirt. After dusting a couple of sections on the car, just shake the duster to remove the dust caught in it then resume dusting.

Try and find a place that does an unlimited wash package. Here in Colorado Denver area we have a place and I get unlimited washes for $250 a year. Considering I wash my car once a week sometimes more during the winter and at $14 a wash (normal price) I get my $$ worth for sure.

But it is interesting how a lighter car seems to stay cleaner longer than a dark car, weird how that works!

Ordered mine Glacier White. 3rd white car. Went to a blue several years back on a Honda Civic and swore not to get another dark colored car because of it. Specially here in So Cal where the desert dust is relentless. Although my final choice was between the GW and the Manhattan Gray.
