Default Thinking about buying a B8

My 98 A4 is beginning to show it's age and I figure it's time to upgrade. I've been weighing the 05-06 A6 3.2s also. So is this a car that breaks often? I'm hoping that by 2009, there aren't a bunch of frequently malfunctioning components. Looking for a 2.0T manual. How are these engines? Is the timing belt easier to change than the 2.8 in my car? Do they leak oil, etc. Input appreciated, thanks.

Try the B8 forum. This is the B9. But generally speaking, the newer the vehicle, the less problems. Age is what really makes things fail the most.

I brelieve my 2014 S4 B8 has a timing chain. Anybody know when they switched? I would get one with a chain.

I have a 2008 B7 with a timing belt. I believe Audi started using timing chains
on the A4 in 2009 with the B8.
