Traffic Sign Recognition Currently Restricted
I started getting this error today when driving. The manual doesn't tell much about the error. Has anyone else seen this?

I get this error daily. Not sure what it's for or what it means, but I assume it pops up when I doesn't spot any traffic signs for a while. I often get them when going through drive thrus and car washes.

It would be helpful if you would indicate where you are. It could be specific to a region.
I have no issues whatsoever with mine. Traffic Sign Recognition normally works as soon as it scans the speed limit or several seconds later. Rarely it has to scan a second speed limit in order to work

I had it pop up once, while driving on the freeway, didn't really know why it happened. Interesting SYMAWD. I might have been driving into the sun at the time. I'll pay attention next time.

I get this regularly and driving into the sun is the only reason I can think of (nothing else is block gin the camera). In most cases this happens together with the speed limit sign being shown as the round ROW type instead of the rectangle US type for a few seconds.

I'm driving a US Spec car in Europe and it comes up every day that I drive. I was guessing it appeared either in regions where it doesn't have the full database/recognition of local traffic signs (maybe based on GPS location?) or if it reads signs not part of that database as you're driving, but have not been able to get a more firm answer from either a dealer or Audi online, unfortunately. Seeing as it's happening to people in the states maybe the latter?

Probably it sees a house number in my neighborhood, and thinks it is a traffic sign that it cannot read.
I don't need to know it is not working on my street - the message coming up every day is annoying.
