Trunk Unexpectedly Opens
I've discovered the trunk open on my A4 several times. Twice I came out in the morning to find it open. I'm certain that the trunk was closed and the car was locked the prior evenings. Not sure if this is the remote version of a 'pocket dial' or if the trunk releases for some other reason. Has this happened to anyone else?

My 2014 A6 Prestige has the kick under the bumper to open the trunk feature. About 1 time in 10-20 when we stop the car, turn it off, and walk past the left rear wheel (not behind the car) the trunk pops open. Apparently it thinks we need to take something out of the car's trunk and just anticipates our need 😃 Only once have we come back to the car and found it open. One should definitely get this fixed.

I've scheduled a second appointment to attempt to solve this problem. The first time the dealer claimed that everything is in spec. This is awful - I can't keep anything of any value in the trunk because I never know when it will pop open.

This was the exact same issue with mine back in 2013 when Audi first added the feature to the A6. Looks like the overactive trunk lid sensor is at it again in some B9s. I had the dealer just disable mine.

Can anyone tell me exactly what kind of sensor they're using for the kick to open trunk and where it is? I don't see anything unless they're using the camera over the license plate.
