Default What percent tint is best for the windows?

I'm going to get my windows tinted on my glacier white. 70% or higher is required for the front windows here in CA. I'm trying to decide if I go 70% in the front and dark (35%) in the back and rear side windows. Or do a 50% all over as a way to reduce getting pulled over, but still being illegal. If it wasn't for the law I'd just get 35% all around. The other option is to do 70% on the sides (front/rear side windows) and dark in the back window only. I dont really like the look of light and dark windows side by side, but 70% is way too light. What are people getting in states with tinting laws?

I'm now thinking 35% on all 4 side windows and 20% on the back.

Im in CA and ive had 35 front doors and 20 back doors and back windows for 10 years on a white Acura, never been stopped. I would say go dark. There are a lot of us out there with very dark tints.

I have 35% all around (nothing on the windshield) on a Mineral White BMW and it looks good. Not too dark and not too light. I don't know what the law is in CA but going on little on the lighter side might get you some slack from the law.

I have 40% on our Audi and to my eye it looks the same, maybe a touch darker than the BMW.

I went with 35% all around. It's getting done now, so not sure how it will look. After I left I started thinking 20 all around would have been better. I really like the look of black windows on white cars. We shall see. If 35 isn't dark enough I could always redo it in a year or so.

35% all around is good too. Dark enough and with enough visibility so that you dont attrack the police. Congrats. Post some pics after they are done. I have a glacier white coming in November and would like to see the look. Thanks

Report back on how it looks and what you think when you get the car back.

I think 35% was the right call. its dark and makes the car look better, but you can still see inside. 20% would have been good too I think.

Looks good. I always do 35% on my front windows and 20% on the back.

35 on sides and 20 on the back is what I went in planning, but the guy told me that would look odd and that if I wanted 2 levels I should do front sides with 35 and rear sides plus back window at 20. Which I think looks odd. I settled on 35 all around. Seemed like the safe pick. If I did it over I'd probably do 20 on the back and 35 on the sides. However I'm happy with the outcome. Looks dark, but not a cop magnet.
