why still no touch screen in the new generation A4 ?
touch screen make everything so much more intutive.
Tesla, porsche, even toyota has it and they worked great!

When I went from my Cadillac Escalade with a touch screen to my 2013 Q7 Prestige I was surprised it wasn't touch screen. My dealer said Audi found its customers had an aversion to greasy fingerprints all over making the display very hard to read - particularly in bright sun.
Personally, having had both, I much prefer the external controls & probably wouldn't go back to touch & its associated mess.
Again, it's just one of those "personal preference" things - to each his own.

Just use voice command for almost everything and the **** is much faster than touching the screen would be when going through the menus.

I'm personally glad it isn't a touch screen. The finger prints would drive me nuts. I all ready have to deal with it on my phone.

huge second! There are plenty of touch screen cars, I'm glad that Audi thinks that's a bad idea.

+ 1 here too. I detest touch screens in cars. The controls here are elegant and intuitive. I hated having to look at what the screen is doing to try to touch the perfect spot to while the car is moving.

I also prefer the MMI system to touch screen.

Speaking of the non-retractable MMI screen anyone having any issues with it when parked out in the sun all day? Could long term exposure to the sun damage it? After warranty is gone can be an issue. Thinking long term here.

Yeah, I'm not sure why some people like touchscreens in cars. I think it's the worst. They take way too much concentration and eyes of the road in order to make sure you are touching the right thing while driving and the ride is bumpy. There's no haptic feedback. The external MMI controls can be operated without having to look at them. You can feel your way around them. But as said, the ultimate user interface in a car is really voice control.
