Default Debris in engine

On my 1.8 litre a4 cab, the crankcase vent elbow that engages the top of the oil filter mount broke apart, and I'm sure some of the debris (plastic) has entered. Will it be trapped in the filter or circulated thru the engine with disastrous results?

there's a mesh filter on the pick up line in the sump to stop larger pieces being sucked up into the oil journals. If you start seeing low oil pressure in the future, it will need the sump removed to clean it out. The mesh flange on the oil pickup is about 40mm (1 & 3/4 ") so unless you lost lots of pieces I would not be too concerned.

Default thanks

john, thanks for the reply. I was able to push a pc of tubing down there and suck out most if not all debris with a vacuum. Have put on 1000+ miles with no ill effects.
