having a strange problem with my 2004 a4 cabriolet sometimes when driving i feel it lose power when this happens i can put my foot right to the floor on the*gaspedal*and nothing until i pull off and pump the pedal then it goes back to normal, no CEL on any ideas i would appreciate any help

Just curious about the mileage on the vehicle, if it's pretty high and you have not dealt with the fuel filter perhaps there could be a problem there? Of course it could be a host of other things causing that issue but fuel delivery may not be a bad place to investigate first.

70k Mileage fuel filter and a full service has been done and garage could not find anything wrong with my car. No fault lights come on the dashboard.
My friend who works for the AA had a customer with the same problem which he took it to a garage after a few days he went back to find out what the cause was and the mechanic could not find the fault
