Default Newbie saying hello and needs advice please

Hi there,
We are picking up a 54 plate A4 1.8T convertible on Saturday. 101k, FSH, new belts and water pump so it appears to have been well looked after. The only problem seems to be the heated seat on the drivers side. The back rest warms up but the seat doesn't. The dealer has looked into it but apparently it isn't a simple matter of replacing the element. Does that seem right?

We would appreciate you advice.

Many thanks.

Default Yes, I believe it's the element...

Since the back and the seat are separated, 2 elements are needed. Check the wiring, it may be loose under the seat.

Cheers,

Louis

Thank you for that. I phoned the local Audi dealers and they say I can purchase a net heat mat for about £50.

Collected the car yesterday and there is no heat coming from the verts. Its just had a full service, belts and water pump. Guess it has an air lock somewhere. Would you agree?

Default Should you check for everything before you bought your car?

If the fan is on, the vent controller is selected - defrost-center-floor - air should come out. If they don't, it's more problems than just vents, it's the controller - temperature sensors - whole ball of wax...

Good luck,

Louis

Thanks for that. Plenty of air comes out but its all cold air, now warm air, no matter what the AC is set at.

Turn on the econ to make sure no AC turned on and try "HI" to see if heat comes out.

Cheers buddy,
Tried all the settings now. I'm pretty sure there is an air lock in it so will be taking it to the mechanic this week. Will let you know how we get on.
