I have been keeping actual readings of my MPG over the last 1-2 months, and the numbers (from the most recent first).
16.04
16.93
15.91
15.86
These are actual miles driven/gal gas filled from mostly city/urban driving.
It consistently averaged right around that 16 MPG mark. This is roughly 20% under the rated 20 MPG city.
I don't really mind about the low MPG, since gas prices had been decent these days. But again, this is quite a bit off from the rated numbers.

I just looked at Fuelly.com and noticed there aren't many newer A6s listed.
I picked up a 2014 A6 3.0T Prestige last night and will start tracking mine starting today when I fill it up for the first time.

I got my 2016 A6 2.0 in June of this year.
I live in the Los Angeles area, my driving is a combination of street and freeway. So far my average is about 21MPG combined. Trips to Vegas, averaging about 85-90, I'll see 26 to 27 MPG. I honestly expected better on freeway/highway driving. Audi claimed that the 2016 A6 had improved fuel mileage over the 2013 of about 10%, which should have returned about 22-23 mpg combined average, but I'm not seeing this. I am seeing about 1 mpg better than my 2013, but hoped to see better, especially with the auto start/stop (which doesn't seem to help at all).

i had a loaner car 2012 or maybe a '13 A6 3.0T for about 24hrs. This is the first time I spent so much time with the 3.0T The driving experience is quite different than my tdi. The 3.0T has crazy top end and an impressive midrange. The noise is nice too. The fuel economy is horrendous IMO. Of course this depends on how individuals drive. With my driving style, trip computer was showing 17-18L/100km - which sucks!
The lowest I've seen was crusing on the highway - 9L/100km. And this was < 115km/h
After getting my car back from the dealer. I was so happy to have it back and love the combination of tourque and fuel economy. I'm back to 8-9L/100km average, and I love every minute of it.
just thought I would share

I also have a 30 mile commute that is almost all highway. And even though I live in Houston I leave very early and hit very little traffic. I have a 2016 A7. Its very common for me to show over 30mpg on the cars readout, and I've even seen as high as 34 for the total commute.
BUT, I have calculated the mileage on several tanks and it was consistently 10% high. But that still means I frequently average 28-29 real mpg. And I'm not babying it, but I do drive smoothly and usually get better mileage than others in similar conditions.

This is funny, but I have a 2016 A6 P+ 2.0T and get nowhere close to what you guys claim!
As an example, with AC off, 16 MPH average speed, 25 mi commute is showing less than 16 MPG. My overall long term for the 5000 miles since I got the car is about 17.2 MPG.
Took the car to the dealer, but they came up with a verdict "everything is operating as it should" without actually stating if this mileage is normal...
Any suggestions? Or is it really expected for the 2.0T?
