I came here looking for the secret sauce to make the Bose system not suck and it seems like everyone has the same assessment - the Bose system is "meh" at best.

For me, the system sounds fine when I'm listening at normal volume (1/4-1/3 up) but when I've got it cranked on the highway it seems hollow. I'm really disappointed in the bass. I've got the bass all the way up and the treble one notch above the middle. Running through a bunch of different music the only thing I've found which really sounds like full bass is some Biggie. Foo Fighters, Zac Brown even RATM all sound like someone put the drummer and bassist in a different room.

Pretty weak for a $70k car. Especially one that is as amazing on the road and in overall fit/finish as the A6 is.

2) The standard radio on my 2013 A6 offered the option to focus the audio to either "driver" or "whole car." I really liked the “driver" focus. The BOSE in my 2016 only offers "front", “rear” or “all” audio focus settings and to me it is not as good as what was on the 2013. Isn’t BOSE supposed to be better than the standard radio?
3) I cannot find any information in the MMI and Owner’s Manual regarding Audio Pilot. What is this? Does anyone have a link to some document that describes Audio Pilot?
I have Bose audio in my 2006 Audi A6 in Europe. I live in US, ride Buick Enclave 2012 with Bose. Sound quality Buick Bose and A6 Europe are similar, a bass is a little better in Buick(6" bass).

I tested Audi A6 2015 here in US. It cannot be compared to any of these two. You need more power because it is surround. Surround never sounds fine as 2 channels. Surround is for movie, not music. I know that you can make surround on minimum, but still it is not as 2 channels. I think that Bose quality is down for new Audi A6.

I tested Mercedes S. Sound quality is almost excellent, but I do not like Mercedes at all. It seems I have to install my music IF I buy A6.

Default Not good

I listend the song in Audi A8 2016 with B&O, after that listened Bose in S6 2016. Also Listened the same song in 340i 2016. Much better Bose in 340i than both Bose and B&O in Audi.

I have both Audi A6 2006 in Europe and Buick Enclave in US with Bose, the same story.

Something is wrong with audio in Audi.

I recently had a 2016 A4 with B&O as a loaner. It was way better than the BOSE in my 2016 A6.

The B&O is far more superior to the E class and 5 series audio when i was car shopping. I will never purchase a vehicle without B&O.

Coming from my soft-top, half-door Jeep Wrangler, ANY audio system sounds better--especially on the highway!

Seriously, though--I am enjoying listening to my music again. Having to turn the volume up to counteract the wind noise was definitely not good for my ears.

I agree. I have an A7 with Bose. I have had both A5s and Q5s with the B&O as loaners and they were much better than my Bose despite being similarly priced options in the respective vehicles. The Bose on my A7 is incredibly dissapointing, especially for a $75,000 car and the Bose is actually an up charge. It's bad enough that as much as I like the car it will influence my next car purchase if they don't upgrade it.

As stated elsewhere in this thread the Bose is very disappointing for the upcharge. What disappointed me just as much was the inability to directly rip CD's to the jukebox, the inability to play native FLAC files and not one USB port. I know the last two issues have been addressed with MY 2016, but that does me no good............
