Default 2016 A6, or should I wait?

I currently have a 2013 A6 (2.0t Quattro), and the least is going to expire in September. I'm getting a bunch of mailers and email from Audi encouraging me to upgrade with some pretty good offers. The deal, essentially, is an upgrade to a 2016 2.0T Quattro Premium + with LED lights, Bose, sport suspension, etc etc., all for "only $77 more per month than what you're paying now" and practically nothing down.

So it's a good deal, and considering the 2016 has about 50 more HP than mine, it's an even better deal.

But here's where I'm stuck... I know that Audi will have a new model A6 out soon, presumably with all of the new tech (Virtual Cockpit, better LED ambient lighting, etc etc). Not to mention it will probably have a mode updated look. I test drove a 2017 A4 recently and was very impressed with the interior and exterior, and the overall feel of the car.

So should I go for the upgrade now, or should I wait? I really don't know when the new model is due to be released so I could be waiting a while. The upgrade offer is for a 42 month lease, so if a new model comes out in a year, I'll be on the outside looking in for 2 1/2 years.

Thoughts??

The earliest the new A6 is likely to be seen in the flesh is at the Geneva show next march with European deliveries starting late summer. More likely is that the A8 will be at Geneva and the A6 and A7 - heavily based on the new A8 - will be seen later in the year (Moscow - A7 August and Frankfurt - A6 September) as was the case with the current A6. AS yet there have been no photos of the new A6 under development in the media and I have only recently seen a photo of a heavily disguised A7, further suggesting we are looking at late 2017 for availabilty. US shipments tend to lag European availability by several months so I would be surprised if the C8 A6 is available before around April 2018 in the US

I also recently drove the 2017 A4 and also found it to be quite impressive. As the 2017 A6 will also be based on the new MLB platform, I would also expect the same level of refinement/improvement. As is generally the case, though, the 2016 A6 will prove to be a better value since it is the last year of that platform run. The 2.0 in the 2016 A6 is plenty fast. Interestingly, the 2017 A4 (same engine) was even quieter than my 2016 A6. The only thing I did not like was the transmission selector which is more like what BMW and Mercedes use.

As per John Simcox's post, a 2017 A6 will be on the current C7 MLB platform. The C8 A6 on MLB Evo platform will not be in the US until spring 2018 earliest. Which means Audi America will likely release it as a MY2019 car.

The extra legroom in the rear of an A6 comes at a high price in terms of weight and relative performance to the same quattro 2.0TFSI version in the new B9 A4. Steering feels better to me in the B9, too. Tough choice though, both good cars.

I would wait and see what the c8 has in store and based on when it is being released and you can snag the c7 on lot for a good price (if you want to do the c7 still).
