Default 2016 A6 - Where to plug in a radar detector?

Ok, I jump in my 2016 A6 Prestige with my radar detector and can't find an 12v outlet on the ceiling or front dash panel to plug it in. Can't stretch the chord to the center console and even if I could the wire would be in the way. Any ideas?

You really have only 2 options. Get an extension (or longer cord if available for your detector) to plug in the center console/rear console 12v socket or hard wire to the fuse box after concealing the wire in the headliner, etc. You can find others who have done a permanent installation by searching the C7 forums.

There are power cables that connect to the ODB port down by your left knee, and concealed in the molding and headliner. I use a V1 in this config with their bluetooth module and ODB power concealed behind the dash.

Is the power cord coiled? Mine was so I had to get a generic straight power cord so it would reach to the 12v receptacle in the console. I have learned how to move the cord around a bit to obscure it a little. I only use the detector on highway trips, so in that scenario some power cord ugliness is a decent tradeoff for being ticketed IMO.

AZ, there is "switched" power at the HomeLink module. Very e-z connection to make. Take it to your local stereo shop if you don't want to fiddle with it.

Very very easy to hard wire it to the fuse box and conceal the wire in the headliner and side pillar.

I plugged an adapter into the center console, placed it in the sliding change drawer, and plugged my radar detector into it. This is a link to a similar one. It's not a perfect solution, but was easy enough.

Yea, sliding change drawer in front of the gear stick and aft of the funk button. The early Audi's had ash trays and lighters in them.

I found a antique one on eBay...
