Hi folks,

Just saw the new 2016 A6. I am loving the new single frame grille. I have a 2012 A6 prestige. Does anyone know if the 2016 grille will fit the 2012 A6 Prestige.

Do you have pics as I can't say for sure, but are the grilles not the same? Maybe I am confused, but I thought so.

I saw the grille on the US audio website. It has chrome slats as opposed to teh black ones that I currently have. They do look similar in size and shape.

Is that the S6 grille you are talking about as those have chrome slats where the ones we have are black.

The one I have is black, and I am looking to get the chrome slats. Also the new 2016 A6 in the US website has the single frame Chrome slats grill, like the A8.

If you are talking chrome slats, then I think you are talking about the S grille. Basically here are your options to modify your grille. If I miss anything please chime in.

Standard A grille is single piece with black slats and chrome trim.
A grille with black optics is the same slats, but black gloss trim.
Standard S grille is chrome trim and chrome slats
S grille with black optics, I am actually not sure of. Don't know if one exists honestly
RS grille. If you get the OEM grille, it will a little effort for the fit from what I hear, but you will have a honeycomb grill and either black or chrome trim. The lower part of the gille will say quattro and be outlined in grey or carbon fibre I beleive.
Ebay grille. I have one of these not installed yet. I am told it fits with little effort, it is all honeycomb mesh and no slats. Mine is black optic trimmed. Some come in chrome.

Hope this helps in what you are looking at doing.

The facelift model has chrome all over the front, it's not exclusive to the S6 anymore. No idea if the facelift grill fits the pre-facelift though.

Only two ways to tell. Either you guy it and try it out and hope you can return it, or wait until some here tries it. I had a facelift C5 before. I can tell you the grills were different. Audi likes to tweak a couple body panels just right to where aftermarket can be missed simply having the wrong year inside the generation. I would suggest looking at the S6 grille pre face lift as I know those fit. Many of done it on this forum and AZ as well.
