The 2014 Q5 2.0T has a flex-fuel engine, and the manual reads about the same way. I quoted in in another thread, something like "some loss of performance" but the engine is built to read the fuel and adjust timing, turbo boost, etc, all based to match it from extended tables.
If 87 gives you all the kick you need when you kick the throttle down, that's all you need. Want more oomph? Drive in "S" instead of "D". Not enough? OK, then you use higher octane. Or, dump the truck (yes, Audi calls it a TRUCK in Germany) and buy a sports car that can really make 'em scream.
