Default bluetooth with a tracfone?

We just purchased a new 2014 A6, and I need to link a tracfone (LG840G) to the car. Anybody here tried to sync a tracfone to the Audi? The LG referenced above is bluetooth enabled but does not link. I'm not averse to buying another tracfone but do not know which brand/model will work well with the car. A monthly contract doesn't make much sense for us-no service within fifteen miles of the house.

Have you tried "both directions"? In other words, try initiating pairing from the PHONE, looking for your MMI system and if that doesn't work, then try initiating pairing from the MMI, looking for your phone.

At delivery in Germany, my iPhone4S would report failure when pairing to the MMI, but happily accepted pairing when we did it from the MMI to the phone. I suspect a reboot on either or both the phone and the MMI would have fixed the phone->MMI pairing issue (or perhaps doing it in a less "crowded" Bluetooth environment - as there were a dozen or so cars being delivered) but we just did it the opposite "direction" and success.

Try that first and if it doesn't work, let us know what exactly happens when you try....

Tried going both ways without success. Audi MMI says phone not found. LG says no device avail. Looking at Audi/bluetooth.com makes me think my choices may be limited to LG Optimus Dynamic II or Samsung Galaxy Centura.

Make sure you're enabling discovery on the phone when trying to go car->phone and likewise in MMI (someone with a manual would have to chime in on how to enable MMI but I don't recall it being terribly difficult).

I have a LG440G tracfone on a 2013 A6 Prestige that works perfectly.
