We just returned from a 2,000 road trip and both my wife and I agreed that the seats in the A6 were really comfortable for the long hours on the road. It made us glad we took this car vs. the BMW whose seats I'd rate as OK.

My experience is exactly the same.

Just got back from an 800 miles trip to Maine, and loved driving this A6 on its first trip. Only minor complaint is I wish it had the sports seats like those that we have on the Q5. That would have made it a bit more comfortable on the long drive.

Also, I am only averaging 31 mpg on the trip. And that's mostly doing 75-80 mph on the highway. I am not sure how some of you got up to 36 or 38 mpg. Did you use cruise control?

Only 31 mpg... is that from the DIS or actual measurement? 31mpg with a 3.0T is extremely good, even with all highway driving - I've never hit it for any length of time. Those claiming in the mid-high 30's either have a TDI or a 2.0T 4 cyl. Or relying on a very optimistic DIS readout.

That is from the dashboard reading, what the car says.

31 mpg is right on with manufacturer's specs for highway.

Btw, I tried to put the car on cruise control a few times and just don't like it at all. I prefer to have my foot on the paddle and feels the car moves/accelerates.

I believe the EPA highway number for a 2016 3.0T is 30 mpg. Still, to achieve the top EPA number is often difficult in real life - too many variables. Also, keep in mind the DIS is often optimistic from the factory by 4-10%. The only way to insure accuracy is to use the fill up method - at each fill you note the mileage, miles driven divided by gallons filled at the pump. There are phone apps that can make it easy to calculate and keep track over time. After 4 years with my 3.0T, I average 22.7 mpg with 70% suburban, 30 % highway.
BTW, The MPG readout in the DIS can be modified to more closely match actual using a VCDS.

I see. That makes sense. I will try that and see what the actual mileage is.

Wow. Wow. Got on a plane at 6:30 am Friday, picked up my moonlight blue with nougat interior A6 in Florida at 4:30 pm. Started driving the 20 hrs back home; a road trip the day you pick up your Audi should be obligatory, even when you drive behind a hurricane.

When the ambient footwell and door lighting came on I nearly crashed it was so beautiful; not to mention compared to the high end American cars I have been renting with neon green strips or thank you ford for allowing to change the color to pink, sorry for the tangent.

Vintage 2016 ride here with only cruse control to help, it is a super smooth fun ride. Ear to ear smile here.
