Default APR Tune

Let me preface this by saying this is my second audi car, i purchased a new 2004 A8L and put almost 160,000 perfect miles on that machine. When it came time for a new car i purchased a 2012 A6 prestige and was even happier with this car. Probably the wrong forum for this but i just turned 55 and my car has almost 75,000 ticks on the odometer. Early in the summer i ran my car at Pittsburgh Raceway park just to see what it will do in the 1/4 mile. Consistent 13.6-7 with no drama.

did the stage 1 tune thru apr in june and ran consistent 12.7-8's, i finally had the pulley and the stage two tune done a couple months back and i can tell you wow!!!

Yesterday ran 12.31- 12.37 thru 7 different runs. Cars i smoked just kidding you cant do a burnout with the A6, challenger hemi, challenger srt, mustang 302, a couple of tuners and my only loss was to a new mustang gt with a aftermarket supercharger he got me in the last few feet.

Wow these cars are some machines. Got 27MPG on the way home.

Nice!! I am also getting the APR stage I and II. Didn't know there's stage II tune. Thought it was stage I ECU and stage II for pulley? I don't know about these stuff yet lol. But the shop that is doing mine says I'll get 329whp with 91 octane since in my area we don't have 93 octane. APR site says 365whp.

How much of whp you have now?

after they do the pulley they retune again. Supposedly with both 420 i dont know what the wheel HP is but you feel it. Everytime i went to the line the announcer said here is that fast black sedan. My 77 year old dad told me to grow up yesterday.

Hmm. I may have to ask the shop that. Since all they told me is to do APR Stage I ECU and they also have the pulley in stock so might as well do the pulley but they didn't tell me that they will retune it again.

I'm not for sure. If so then I'll need to do that.

The shop that is doing mine says they only charge for the APR ECU upgrade and don't charge labor. Which is 1k something and with pulley it brought me to $2,600 something, haven't done it yet but will be doing it the 17th along with my 75k maintenance, intake, and new tires.

Are most waiting until the warranty expires before getting the tune? I'm hearing conflicting information about warranty void issues.

For me when I bought the car it had 68k miles on it so I am going to do the 75k maintenance while they're doing the tune.

APR said you can go back to stock and will leave no trace of you doing the tune.

Default Tune and warranty

If you suffer a failure directly related to the tune, you are pretty much on your own. (This comes from a factory service rep) I had the stage one on my S4 and was very pleasantly surprised with the improvement. It was noticeable around 3K and stayed strong right to the 7K!

I guess my only reservation is how I would actually use either of these upgrades.....my new 2014 A6 is plenty fast stock.
Well, maybe not fast enough................

The only thing I don't get is on APRs website on stage 1 it says 365whp and then stage 2 it says 329whp??

I know they are using 93 octane or higher but I can only run 91 here. So idk what the total whp I will get.
