Attention 2012 A6 owners: Fuel leak Safety Recall
#21
I had this campaign done to my 2012 yesterday.
They also did a TCM update (Campaign 37JI).
I don't know if I got accustomed to my 2.0T Q5 loaner (which I had for 5 days) but I feel my car pulls a lot stronger now after getting it back.
Almost hit triple digits on my way back home on a short stretch of i95. The car just pulls and pulls.

got my car back today from having the recall done now the inside of my car smells like gas fumes. I also noticed a small scratch on drivers side mirror neat the turn signal light, but audi doesn't want to claim responsibility for it

Mine's currently in the dealers hands. Dropped it off on Friday and they said that once they do get to it, it will take roughly 2 days to do the work. Good news is, they had just gotten a shipment of the parts packages for the recall. So, with any luck, I should hear something today I hope.

I did get my car back yesterday. They actually called me early in the morning, but I was already at work so had to wait till the end of the day to pick it up.
6 hours of work sounds about right for what has to be done. If I did the work myself, I could see completing it in that amount of time. I think they padded time estimate as they were getting in several cars for the recall all at once.
Initial result however is that the car does seem to be getting a better, consistent fuel mileage. I reached 31mpg a fair bit sooner than I usually do on my morning commute and it held around that very well. They did an ecu update of some sort (wouldn't tell me) but made sure not to do the steering and trans TSB updates since I'm well out of warranty. can't with em' all, but the car drives the same and other than tool marks on the SC bolts, you can't tell they were under the hood.
