Newbie question here... is there a setting that will allow me to wash the car without the car trying to lock/open itself as I circle the car with the remote to clean? I ended up opening the car and then taking the remote out of range.

Leave the fob in the car. It won't lock if its inside.

Just don't forget it's in there like I did. Spent half an hour the next day turning everything upside down in the house until the light bulb went on.

I've done that too. But you can't lock the car with it in there, so you remember when you try to lock it.

That would work except I rarely lock the car when it's in my locked garage (which is integrated with the house).
