Aviator Blue Owners
You are the few. You are the elite. You drive an Aviator Blue A6.
So I have a question for you. Here is my situation. Now that Audi refuses to sell us a Daytona Gray A6 unless we pay them a king's ransom in return, Aviator Blue is now a front runner for me. I've looked at photos, and after much searching I finally found one in dealer stock and took a (brief) look in person. Let me know if this is a fair summary of the color.
On a bright, sunny day, it appear a fairly light gray-green. On cloudier days, it appears kind of like a darker gray-blue. In low light it looks very dark gray. Does that seem about right?
In addition, for those who have it, are you happy with the color? No regrets?
If I'm going to go AB I'll almost definitely need to order it since they're so rare. I'm doing as much homework as I can before putting down a deposit.
Thanks!

I've had my Aviator Blue TDI for nearly a year now and the color is great!
On bright days, it's a very subtle blue; no green. Overcast days, it has more of a grayish color. At night, eh, it's night. Overall, it is a VERY subtle color.
Would I purchase it again? I'm coming from Misano Red on an RS4. Really different with the Aviator Blue! Short answer, yes. But would have rather had the Flouette (SP?) Silver, but couldn't find one. Personal choice. The Aviator Blue is great, and yes, more rare. No regrets here!

I received my 2015 A6 Prestige Aviator Blue with velvet beige interior in November 2014. I ordered it specifically after seeing one in St Louis. Here's the link of multiple pictures as they still have it. http://www.plazaaudi.com/image/viewe...e6cc3ea759827e My car is exactly like this one. Every day I walk out to the parking lot I feel proud to get in my car. I have many compliments on the Aviator Blue as well. It's not the more common black/silver you see in A6's and I like it that way. Put a good wax on it and it brings out the rich color even more. I wouldn't change a bit on my selection!

Totally agree with SGMJohn. I constantly receive compliments on the color. I never see green in the color, dark grey in low light conditions. As long as this color can be had, my Audi will be Aviator Blue.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. NoahWeb yours looks gorgeous in that photo. I'm surprised you see no green in it only because some of the google image photos make it look slightly froggy at times, but I trust your real world, live-with-it-everyday take.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

LOVE Aviator Blue... was among the early adopters, having ordered it without seeing an actual car in person with the color (early in the C7 rollout). VERY happy with it, especially how the color morphs with the light (more blue in overcast, more grey in the bright light, with some green highlights if you look closely). Especially like the look combined with Nougat and black headliner.
No, you don't see a lot of them on the road, and that's a GOOD thing. Can share more pics if you PM with an e-mail address.

I am a huge fan of Aviator--and my perception of the multi-color hues are exactly as the OP stated. I see lots of green in daylight (probably due to light levels/clouds here in the Puget Sound), and the blue really comes out in closed areas like garages and shade with sun behind it. Another highlight for me is that it doesn't seem to show dust/dirt as easily as darker colors which helps me keep my "wash it" OCD under control
