Why can you use that wheel at 80 going backwards and only 50 forwards?

Now there's an idea. Could be a real life saver if the car went into the water. (pun intended). Although, getting it out of the trunk would be a challenge if you were in, say, a lake.

One peeve that I have is that people with black wheels like to take pictures in the shade. They might as well be circles of black plywood on my computer screen. They lose all detail and contrast.

Park in the sun or turn on the fill flash.

Default Consider yourself lucky...

… my RS5 has a place where a spare used to live, but now has a nice can of foam, which I assume is to ease the razor when you slit your wrists 100 miles from the nearest rock out in the desert with a flat :-/

Seriously, a pig like an RS5 with no spare - what to save weight or money? Both are nearly laughable as the RS5 plunders both - except for the inconvenience it caused. I have had nine Audi's and it never even occurred to me that there was not at least a mini-spare. The wheels aren't even staggered for crimminy's sake, so there is no excuse. I carry a plug set and 12v pump, but for slashes it ain't gonna help.

Oh well, done complaining, but need to buy a spare… funny how a $40,000 Chevy SS with 450hp comes with a full spare… yikes!

Happy Motoring

PS - Oh yah, here is a pic of my RS5 with black and red wheels. Black wheels on a big A6 (I have had two) is a commitment as there is no other striking panel work to echo the theme. The Titanium 20"s look awfully nice. In addition, the black wheels require lot's of attention so that they look right and not all dull.

PPS - I have calmed down now - I still love my overweight bruiser of an RS5

Much better, thanks! Good contrast and plenty of detail.

Those space saver spares are also used on sidecar rigs. The square profile lasts longer than regular motorcycle tires.

I'm planning on getting the niche verona in gloss black. I'll post pics of the final result. Here's a basic wheel pic:

Doesn't work on a luxury car, sorry.

Getting back to black rims discussion and their place on a luxury car; I think "Luxury" is in the eye of the beholder. For those with enough money to not care, I believe there's a term known as being "eccentric". Gotta rationalize everything right?

At end of day we build what we want and everyone has the power to set trends, or be an oddball. Personally both are appealing to me. But that's just me.

I'm thankful for those that dare test the waters as it helps me better decide on what I want. My views and opinions are FIXED, until something comes along that changes that. = )

Nobody panic! It's just my personal opinion. I've seen some really nice cars with black rims. Did a google search and found few cars in search and also showcased on here with great looking black rims. I loved the look of this car:
