36K miles does seem like too soon for rotors and pads, although if you drive mostly in city traffic, I suppose it's possible. I'm pushing 50K and still no warning light. I even have new fronts/rears Zimmermann rotors and OEM pads sitting in my garage, waiting for time when they will be needed for install (about 3k miles after the light comes on). Rotors and pads cost me $500 online and the dealer will install for $575. Total out of pocket $1075.

Without your location it's impossible for us to make a recommendation for a local independent repair shop.

Any decent independent shop can do brakes. If you are overly concerned about the shop, in our area there are many independent European shops as well.

There is nothing special about our brakes that makes them more diifuclt than any other. Hell, Autozone stocks the parts for my A6.

do you know if there is a sensor per side on the c7 a6, meaning one sensor for the right front and one for the left front? Same for the back? Getting conflicting information so just checking before I tear into the brakes

My 2012 A7 has two sensors both on the drivers side. One front, one rear and both on the inside brake pad.

Just got my rotor and pad replaced at 53k miles.
Dealer did the installation for about $400,
I ordered StopTech Slot rotors (front and back) from Tire Rack $586
Use Hawk Street 5.0 front and rear pads - front pad accept sensor, rear need a bypass. $300 with sensor and bypass.

May need another driver (not dealer). Also shops these days repl rotors carte blanche to avoid complaints after the job.

My buddy's Gen-Coupe was tickin'. I said your pad is fried, better get the wheel off etc. Of course he's got only 30K miles & doesn't think it is.

But, being more right than anyone on here certainly, the one side hung up and & it wore down to the nubbinz.

where in the Bronx is this place that you mention?
