Default Cheap source for rear "2.0T" and "quattro" badges?

My brother just picked up a CPO 2013 A6 2.0T quattro with 8,000 miles from Walter's Audi in Riverside, CA. Apparently the 2013 and later 2.0T models do not have a rear badge on the right side of the trunk. The dealer wants $100 for the 2.0T + quattro badges. Personally I would leave it alone, but not having the quattro badge in the back bothers him and just putting the small "quattro" badge would make it look odd, so it's either both or none. Are there aftermarket sources for this item that sell it cheaper than $100?

Why would you advertise that you bought the 4 cylinder? I'd certainly leave it off.

Or it was involved in a rear-end collision and the body shop left off the badges due to cost.

I have seen several A6's with the same semi-debadged look. I think they come this way from the factory.

Apparently the 3.0T models continue to have the "3.0T" and "quattro" badges on the right side but 2.0T's no longer come with them.

Audi puts the badges on all cars. Many of the owners will de-badge the car removing the 2.0 so that others will not know that they didn't buy the 3.0. Many will also remove the A6 so that people will not know that they didn't buy the S6.
They will lie and claim that it is for "clean look" but those same people would never de-badge an S or RS model.

Just get the replacement badges on ebay and put them back on.

Well said

And then you also have those who remove the 2.0 and put 3.0 on, or those who remove the A6 and put S6 on

Exactly.

I removed my A6 badge and replaced it with an RS7 badge.

Not to show off, just to mess with people's heads.

I find that hard to beleive. I mean really.. Remove the 2.0 badge so no one will know I just dropped $50k+ on a car.. Wow, how shameful. I would like to think that people are not as superficial to think that everyone behind them will pay that much attention to the badging to determine how much someone spent on their vehicle. Most non Audi drivers are probably clueless and if nothing else are seeing the whole package more than the badging.

Every compliment Ive gotten so far on my car has lacked any conversation pertaining to my "missing" 3.0 badge. Yes I have the 2.0 and I only recently realized the 2.0 was not on my 2014. For me, I decided to give up the 3.0 and instead add other options to my vehicle since I enjoy the other toys just as much. I will say though that anyone replacing the badges with "higher" ones is pretty lame. Thats just fraudulent. Oh well, differnet strokes I guess.

That's incorrect. What OP posted is accurate.

I am pretty sure I have seen new cars at the dealership without the 2.0 badge, I assumed it was Audi understanding that people may not want to advertise the smaller engine on this level car.

I have the 2.0 Quattro and I am not ashamed one bit. Personally, I could care less what people think about what I drive or what engine I picked. Wouldn't care if it was on there but I actually like the debated look - when I wash the car my towels and wash mitts always get threads stuck on the badges anyway. Certainly will not go out of my way to add them, I wouldn't care if I had the RS6 or A6 with a 4 cylinder. Its Audi's job to advertise, my job is to enjoy what I bought.

I dont understand why people are so obsessed with the largest engine available. I bet there are people on here who have the 3.0T who would be just fine with the 2.0T - they would never admit it though. Cant tell you how many people I see driving S4's that probably never have used above 4k RPM or 65 MPH on the highway - I see them all the time in my area - they bought a badge not an engine. I came from a B8.5 S4 so I know the 3.0T is a phenomenal engine, when I wanted something more comfortable and slightly larger, I drove all three engines available in the C7, chose the 2.0 because I thought it was just fine and I saved thousands. Most people on here will say "who buys a 50k+ car and worries about a few thousand dollars" (I have seen that on here A LOT). My response to that is, people who are smart with money, hence the reason they got to the point to where they can afford such a car.d There is a difference in my world between what you can afford, and what you need/should buy. The other day I was eating lunch outdoors when an brand new Rolls Royce went by, my friend said 'man I wish I could afford one of those', my response, 'I wish I could have the money to buy one of those.'

To each as own, there is a reason Audi offers everything from a 4 cylinder up to a bi-turbo V8. Bit of a rant, but its funny the way some people view the 2.0, and yes, Audi does not put the 2.0T badge on the back from the factory

I probably would have been fine with the 2.0T, but I wanted the full LED headlights.

I thought the newest A6 cars are only fully badged when the 3.0T is fitted. I believe that's what my salesperson told me earlier this year when we sat in the diesel.

My new 2013 came right off the dealer lot without the 2.0T badges.

Not at all true. All 2013 and subsequent 2.0 A6's sold in the US have no 2.0 badge on the rear. I suspect if anyone doesn't want the world to know it is only a 4 cylinder it is Audi. Why else would they not put them on when they do on the cheaper A4? The dual exhausts continue the "same as all A6's" look, whereas the same 2.0 on the A4 has exhausts tips only on the driver's (left) side.
One of the reasons I did not feel too bad trading in my 2010 A6 3.0 with the supercharged badge on the front fenders on a 2013 2.0 A6 was that it has somewhat of a sleeper look with no 2.0 identifier and folks not familiar with Audi would not know it was a four banger.
Two neighbors in my apartment complex have 2014 A6 2.0's and we have discussed how happy we all are they did not come with a 2.0 badge. I like the engine and the car a lot.

ebay has the badges you are looking for, though not "OEM" so I don't know how they'll hold up over time. I'm guessing they'll to fine from past experience.
As for why the 2.0T versions don't have the badges... I would venture to guess it's due to cost savings. On a different note, the 3.0T badge is dumb IMO since it's really not a turbo. Audi should replace them with the supercharged badge to keep the badges in line.
The 2.0T is a great engine but for lead foots like myself, I need the 3.0 or bigger!

If your's has the 2.0T badge, it's easy to remove with some fishing line or tooth-floss. Then just polish off the small amount of glue-residue that's left. As suggested above, that Audi should have done, I removed the 3.0T and replaced it with the Supercharged badge.
