Have them pull a manual out of a showroom car, flip to the Index and look for "Replacing tires and wheels" and go through that section, including any side-references to Quattro. There'll be something about matching tread depth and replacing tires AT LEAST in pairs.

Then re-iterate request for *FOUR* new tires.

They are going to replace the back two tires (one of which was damaged).

The crazy thing is these Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetics are CRAZY expensive...$470 per tire installed. I am going to keep the undamaged one in case I ever have a blowout b/c WOW thats expensive.

I offered to just take the $900 so I could buy four all-seasons instead but they didnt go for it. That would have made my life easier in the long run.

Update: A new service manager called me. They're going to refund me $1,000 so I can buy the all season tires of my choice.

That's pretty good on their part for a damaged tire.

One question I didn't see answered... You were told by another Audi dealer that the vehicle is not showing as a CPO. Is AoA going to honor the car as a CPO?

Great you're getting the $1,000. Is the Lemon Law anything that might help you here? Just a thought.

Yes, it is a CPO. AoA helped sort that out. The selling dealer's sales department apparantly "forgot" to update the computer system to mark it CPO.

This new service manager was really, really adamant that I give them all
"10s" on the Audi survey, since they were covering my tires. That survey must be pretty important.

There have been many threads discussing these dealer surveys. Since most dealers often push hard on their customers to give them "10s", it's pretty clear that a dealers' financial benefit from Audi is tied directly to a positive score. Unfortunately, this constant drive to give them perfect scores would seem to dilute the veracity of the results. IMO, it's a flawed system.

I had an issue when my the A6 I ordered arrived. Nothing with the car, but with the salesman promising me one incentive would be available - and it was not because Audi discontinued it. Luckily I had him sign something in writing when I ordered it. But that was not good enough for him. So I worked with the dealer and we worked out a fair compromise where I received the value of the incentive I was promised in another fashion.

I also got the all 10 spiel from the salesguy.

Sorry - I did not give all 10s. I gave honest responses. I praised the sale manager for standing up and salvaging the deal but I made it clear there were issues with the salesman.

If the survey is to mean anything, people need to give honest feedback
