Cupholders

You can get some of the large sized drinks cups from a fast food joint. Make sure they are made of plastic. Then cut off the tops.
The largest ones with a standard sized base which then flares out at the top, could be used to enlarge the cupholder's diameter, but then you'll only fit one side and the height will increase.
Stops styrofoam cups from getting crushed by the claws, or water bottles which they seem to have reduced the plastic thickness to the bare minimum now.

I hadn't realised until this morning that the 2 front cup holders are different sizes. My Boden coffee mug( the best one I've had to date) was a tight squeeze in the passenger side, but a perfect fit on the drivers side ! Doh.

Solution I came across for my BMW. Looks like they got A6's covered now.

I found some cup holders that attach in front of the front seat and tuck under the center console (Between the carpet and plastic) That is the only option i have found. You have to press so hard to get the cups into the holder, i refuse to let anyone use a paper cup.

Moving on from this, I have found that the Thermos 16-Ounce Stainless-Steel Backpack Bottle fits in the cupholder securely and nicely, plus it keeps coffee hot for hours.

I found a piece of 2.5" O.D. stainless tubing fits in the large cup slot and pushes the tongs away for a 20oz Dunkin Donut to fit nicely. It also looks nice being stainless.
A 2x2.5 O.D stainless reducer works well in the driver side, although you then can't shut the cup holder door with it in there.
They may be hard to find items as they are used in pharmaceutical piping systems but it's food for thought.
