Default Digital gas gauge stuck

Hi all. 2012 A6 Prestige here. My gas gauge reads one notch under full. I've driven well over 190 miles and no movement. It says 270 miles left and that's not been moving much. Ran vcds scan and more codes.... what could it be? It should be around under half tank by now....
Anything else I can do via vcds to remedy this? Thanks in advance.

I would fill it up and see if the gauge goes full. Zero the trip odo so you know how many miles on the tank.

Actually went back into VCDS last night and after long research found that under instruments 17 and long coding the gas tank was set to A6 AllRoad, changed it to A6 Sedan and it fixed the reading. I must have mistakenly changed that value last week when tweaking couple of features like needle sweep, etc. False alarm i guess

Glad to hear that it wasn't a bad instrument cluster.

Just a note to VCDS/Vag-Com beginners (not necessarily the OP):

While this mod error was benign and easily corrected, other changes may do more to create issues not easily resolved. Unless you're a Vag-Com wizard master, it's always a good idea to refrain from playing around with a VCDS unless you know what you're doing and only make documented, proven to work changes. It's also a good idea to save a log file before changing values so if something goes wrong, you don't have to rely on memory to revert back to the original settings.

i actually do agree here --- i fat fingered and it made me nervous on why all of a sudden an option didnt work. Regardless, i think a backup always is necessary before making a change. There are plenty of options that can be accidentally changed and we can end up screwing the vehicle!!!
